Path to Eagle
A note from Mr. Bassett, Troop 75’s Eagle Scout Advisor
Dear Scout,
Congratulations for getting this far on your path to Eagle. The Eagle scout project is one of the most challenging and most rewarding requirement needed to advance to Eagle. Troop 75 is committed to assisting Life scouts during their journey to Eagle by meeting regularly to discuss the requirements and specifics of your project. The Eagle scout project board of review can be unnerving as there are three people asking you about every detail of your project. Therefore, the more time you spend going through every step of your project, the better prepared you will be to ensure a smooth and successful approval of your project.
So, what do you need to do to get started?
1. Think of a project.
Eagle projects must benefit the community in some way. Typically, these are non-profit organizations, churches, schools etc. If you can’t think of anything, please feel free to contact myself or Mr. Warner for advice. Sometimes we hear of projects and we would be happy to pass that information to you.
2. Download the Eagle Scout Project Proposal/Workbook.
The link has been provided below. What you will be filling out is the proposal. Please type out the answers to as many questions you can answer. Once it has been approved you may start your project.
3. Contact me.
As Troop 75’s Eagle advisor, it is my duty to meet with you to discuss, plan, and prepare your project proposal so that it has the best chance of getting signed-off. You can reach me either by email: louisbassett@hotmail.com or by phone (562) 972-6163
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Lou Bassett
